sometimes a smell or a song can trigger the most obscure memories.
it's funny how little bits and pieces of your life correlate with other
dusty bits and pieces. i was in the car, sun had hopped out for a bit,
and Alanis Morissette poured through the speakers, her moaning ballad
of speaking of 'hot blooded women' and 'wanting an object to crave'..
and it immediately brought me back to the tender age of 13, listening
to the same song in my bedroom-i didn't really even know what
the heck she was talking about, but i loved the song-i'd listen to it
when my parents weren't home-what a rebel..i'd come back from riding
my bike to the little supermarket and sit on my pink bedspread with
my treasured treats. i can still taste cookies&cream candy bar made
by Hershey, and i always picked out my very own bottle of cherry coke.
man, was that the life. i thought i was cool stuff, sipping soda, alanis
keeping me company on my boombox and sun spilling through the
window...what a random memory, eh?
