gifts one hundred eleven through one hundred twenty. [cali iv]

111.  shiny blue plates and colorful napkins all set beautifully. means a fabulous meal awaits. thankful that amazing cooks who own the kitchen, step aside graciously and let me have a hand at it. They encourage and are quick to praise, when I clearly know I am but a student at a well established culinary institute.

112. girly time, with just me and mom. this happens rarely with us living so far apart, so I appreciate the opportunity to do so while I am here visiting. Mom had a birthday recently, so she allowed me to bless her with a pedicure and a little shopping spree. She introduced me to a store called Charming Charlie's, and it was stocked with all sorts of lovely things. She picked out a breezy emerald scarf, and i was even able to get a few things for myself. It was good to get so much one on one time with her, and I was so thankful.

113. thankful for Nathan to be able to relax here. truly. He read a whole book (which honestly, is VERY rare with what little time he has at home) I have hardly seen him on any electronic device (which also says a lot) and I love watching him thrive in this warmth, playing hard with his kids, and soaking up so much time with his parents.

114. cilantro.

115. razors.

116. freshly manicured toes. such an unnecessary thing, but what a delight to have!

117. remembering Boston and the terrible scare, but so thankful that what was intended for destruction only killed 2 instead of thousands. remembering the lives lost, and thanking the Father for still being in control.

118. looking forward to going on a fun date with Nathan tonight. a gift that his parents offered to watch the little ones and we get to spend our date in the sunny state of California. big time gift.

119. Benjamin's tenderness in the morning. He comes crawling into bed with us and stuffs himself in the smallest space possible between his mom and dad and is so cheerful and sweet, full of hugs and kisses for us both.

120.  the generosity of some we barely know. mom works for a wealthy family, nannying for a sweet special needs 3 year old, and the mom gathered two huge bags of clothes the little girl has grown out of and she gave them to me for Norah. This is the second time she has done this, hundreds of dollars in name brand clothes, given to us. We are humbled and thankful, and inspired to also be just as generous and unselfish when the opportunity arises.
