a message for all moms everywhere. my beautiful theologically astute-perfectly manicured nails-chai loving-brilliant writer-sassafras McGee-wife to our brother from a other mother which gives me a new sister-wise beyond her years-*finally takes breath* friend Lexi floored me with this beautiful letter the other day and I couldn't help but reading this excerpt over again. it humbled me and encouraged me. and I wanted to share it because there could be other little mamas out there that may come across this little spot and maybe they/you could use this encouragement as well. thank you, Lex. Jesus used you to minister to me mightily. May He be praised.
[And then, I remembered that you blog often, so I checked it before I kept writing my email to you because I miss you. And I cried, reading your poems.
Can I be the first to tell you that Satan cringes at the thought of you mothering your children faithfully?
Can I be the first to tell you that we are equals no matter education or years or jobs or anything? In fact, I look to you as one farther down the road than I, struggling through the day in and day out mundane faithfulness with joy as I refuse joy. I know some days are easier than others, but you are a warrior. Through snotty noses and buckies everywhere, you battle. So I thank you. Because I think there's something to be said about a faith that doesn't get immediate rewards in the workplace. I think theres something great about a faith that doesn't have a worldly title to it to at least help boost spirits, something great about a faith that doesn't receive a paycheck or much appreciation.
You are loved, warrior.
You are loved, royalty.]
