i held her tight
as her eyes
arrived
immediately
spilling
across my
chest.
"i will take care of you
from here on out,"
i whispered to her.
and for a
moment,
my mother
gave me the gift of
placing her trust
completely
in me
and letting me be the
mother
this
time.
