pins and needles

your overtly aware
corrections,
like tiny,
thin,
rigid
needles,
the pricks seem
small,
harmless,
but can still
draw
blood.

-the constant corrector

you continue to use
that
needle
forcing barely visible
holes
along the edges of
my fabric.
you are trying to
make me into an
expertly made
rug.
don't you know
i have already been
woven
into a
rich winter
quilt?
please
stop
poking the needle
creating
unnecessary
gaps.
the warmth is
escaping

I'm sorry if i
don't
do things
the exact way
you would
like me to do them.
that does
not
mean
they
are
wrong.

-i am not you. not even close.
