it is as if
someone has placed a
sharpened nail
in the upper righthand
corner
of my back,
just beneath the
shoulder blade
and took a hammer ever
so neatly
tapping the nail
until it snuggly
is embedded
in me.
it pulses,
the tapping of
the hammer
on
repeat.
it hurts.
