light and dark things

you tell me 
to hush
because you do not like the 
truth
to just stand there
naked, 
exposed, 
without an excuse to run for cover.
well i am not afraid
of it. 
i will continue to ask the questions,
i will gently draw attention
pour light
into dark things that 
aren't always meant 
to be kept
quiet.
the truth can feel 
frightening, i know, 
but it will
