those last 2 hours

today 
i have carefully rationed 
my last two hours 
of small window of normalcy 
to walk to my son's school
to pick him up-
i can't wait to see the look on 
his face
and we will walk 
hand in hand 
to the general store 
to pick up some 
snacks and candy,
just him and me.
by then, i will have to go 
back home 
and re enter the darkness
until tomorrow 
i will be granted 
4 new golden hours 
with my eyes 
at the same level 
as every one 
elses.
