For some reason, baking makes me feel more domesticated and very house wife-ish, like i am some 1940's house wife, complete with an apron and a whisk, waiting for my husband to come home to delicious aromas wafting out of the kitchen, all to welcome him, while the kids behave perfectly reading their almanacs and sketching on their miniature chalk boards.
The new picture: The year is 2019, i am throwing cans and boxed cake mix together, stuffing my face with chocolate chips, the baby gets into the toilet paper without my knowledge and completely unravels it, clogging the toilet with the endless wads of paper. Life remains pristine and sparkly.
Hahaha.. I don't know. Either way, this little "recipe", if i can even call it that, will be sure to hit all the feels with checking off the sweet tooth fix, the house wife status, rolling into autumn with all the pumpkin spice feels, and of course that chocolate craving. These muffins are fudge, rich, and taste so good! The pumpkin just keeps them super moist and depthy, without overpowering them with pumpkin flavor-just enough.
go ahead, trick or treat yourself..all you need is:
1 boxed cake mix. chocolate is my favorite.
you could also use the spiced cake mix, or even the banana bread cake mix. go nuts.
1 15 oz can of pumpkin
1/2 cup chocolate chips, make it double. who doesn't need more chocolate chips in their life?
1/2 cup water
also. i did add 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, but you don't have to.
mix it all to get that dense chocolate batter we all love to dig our fingers into before completion.
bake in muffin tin with liners, at 350 for 20-25 min.
serve warm with plenty of butter to slather on those muffins.
enjoy!
