tfc

it's not fair.
it's not fair that you get to waltz in
like you own the place
strutting around with your head held high
daring anyone with your hard eyes
to question your bold moves
you pretend as if everything is
as it's always been
when it is not.
it has been anything but.
you have left a destructive mess in your wake
hearts are scattered about
in reckless abandon
shalom is trying to be established
and here you are
dipping into it
with your unclean fingers
so brightly stained.
and would you look at her,
i mean really look at her
she stands before you
the crown of creation
without blemish
she radiates Christ
and extends fingers, eyes, and heart
of forgiveness, grace, and love,
how she shines
how she shines
she no longer is held by your chains
but she has submitted herself to
the Father of Light
she still whispers your name
in kindness
not in vain.
so don't you dare
come in here with that strut
with those wounds
you caused
with that unfaithfulness
you spilled
and act like it is your rightful place
to slip back in line,
back to the front of the ship
as captain jack
where are your knees, sir.
find them and use them
where is your face, sir?
find it and fall flat on it
drink in His mercy and forgiveness,
better yet, ask for it,
please ask quietly for it,
and plea for a dip in the
Living Water
so that you may be washed
in His name
and be redeemed,
renewed,
and reconciled
to your Father in Heaven,
to the beautiful wife you
made covenant with
7 years ago and forever still.
please.
don't come in here
with your head held high,
but with a heart broken
and made small
before men,
with hands open and unclenched
 in complete surrender,
she welcomes you
with a hopeful and tender heart
we watch with
cautious protective eyes
but we will follow her lead.
