cilantro lime slaw
i know i have posted about this slaw before, but i thought i would give a more current and updated version. change is good sometimes.
this is a quick and easy recipe that just requires a bit of chopping and tossing and the result is a beautiful, brilliantly colored accompaniment to your tacos, and even grilled meats or salads. it is very versatile and we love it around here.
may i share?
you'll need:
1 head of purple cabbage, chopped-gorgeous vibrant color!!
a small bunch of green onion, mostly green parts and a bit of white
1 large bunch of cilantro, finely chopped
1 tablespoon honey
1-2 limes, juice squeezes
1/2 cup canola oil
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 onion, finely chopped
in a large bowl, toss all chopped ingredients, and then add wet ingredients.
toss and mix thoroughly with hands or wooden spoon.
generously top which ever dish you'd like-our favorites are pulled pork tacos, and fish tacos.
enjoy!
