the Nutella [Dark Chocolate Almond Milk Iced Coffee]

I actually like to call this drink the Nutella, because that is what it reminds me of! I love looking for new Starbucks recipes on Pinterest and Tic Toc, but i am often times too scared to try and list off a complicated order in real life, so I've been trying to recreate recipes at home to one, avoid having to give a speech through the drive through, and two, to save money.

During quarantine, i've had a lot of time to become an at home barista, mixing and brewing, grinding, and pouring. I very much enjoy it, really, and it is kind of soothing to take a few minutes in the morning to put a coffee drink together. I have since invested in a milk frother, a true luxury in my opinion, and my husband is amazing at hunting down and picking up good quality coffee beans. I love to hear the sound of the burr grinder as he breaks down the beans, the rich aroma of coffee dancing beneath my nose. Is this what adulthood feels like? Taking great pleasure in a single cup of coffee?

Anyways, this drink is actually cold, poured over ice, but equally as rich and decadent as a hot cup. In the summer and warmer months, it is nice to switch it up and dive more into cold brews and iced coffees. This drink sounded good in my mind, as well as seeing a few variations online that you can order, but like i mentioned before, i am a little anxious in ordering. It's so silly, i know, but I'll keep working on it.

This is quite simple to make at home, so let's just do that!

you'll need:

ice
a glass
SF hazelnut syrup
vanilla almond milk
cocoa powder
blonde roast iced coffee
sweet foam
milk frother or immersion blender

In a glass, fill with ice.
Pour a splash of SF hazelnut
Next comes the cold coffee. Pour that over the ice, a little over 3/4th of the way.
In your milk frother, pour in almond milk.
When the milk is frothed, drop in a scoop of cocoa powder and stir in gently.
A puff of sweet foam over almond milk mixture,
and then slowly poured on top of iced coffee!
Garnish with chocolate drizzle

Enjoy!
